All Channels Now Have Access to YouTube's Community Posts Feature
YouTube has expanded the accessibility of its Community Posts feature, allowing all creators to activate this option and providing them with an additional avenue to engage with their YouTube audience.
Community Posts are situated on your YouTube channel and offer a text-based method to keep your subscribers informed about updates and important notes, similar to various social media platforms. Initially, this feature was exclusively available to channels boasting over 1,000 subscribers. However, starting this week, all YouTube channel managers can activate Community Posts through the Advanced Features tab in the app.
According to YouTube, the process to access advanced features involves navigating to Studio > Settings > Channel > Feature eligibility. Once there, you can choose to opt into advanced features. Alternatively, within the YouTube app, you can tap the plus sign, and select "create a post," and if advanced features are not yet accessible to you, you will be prompted to verify your eligibility at that point.
Over the past year, YouTube has introduced various enhancements to Community Posts, such as polls, quizzes (currently available on Android and arriving on iOS soon), disappearing updates that expire after 24 hours, and so much more. These additions provide creators with multiple ways to engage with their YouTube community and can significantly contribute to establishing a strong presence within the app.
Regardless, it is advisable to experiment. If the option to activate Community Posts is not currently visible on your version of YouTube or YouTube Studio, rest assured that it will be available soon.
